The Ultimate In Outdoor Recreation
Mountain, Meadow and Lake
Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Long Valley in West Central Idaho lies Tamarack Resort-North America's newest golf, ski,and lakefront destination resort. From its serene settings on Cascade Lake to expansive meadow frontage to the grand mountain backdrop, Tamarack offers a signature combination of unspoiled natural beauty, a distinct four-season climate, and convenient regional access.
To enhance this gift of nature, they have assembled an extraordinary team, rich with years of resort-planning experience, expertise, and imagination, grounded in principles of what is possible and what is right. They have committed to the creation of a resort that optimizes the latest technology and thinking with a focus on conversation of land and natural resources.
The Mountain
The ski-mountain trails at Tamarack cover an area of 2,150 acres with a total vertical drop of 2,800 feet. Trail design offers a variety of terrain, from steep mogals to long cruising runs and from terrain parks and powder bowls at the upper mountain to the comfortable learning areas at the base. The mountain is made up of rolling trails with short stretches of flat terrain followed by steeper pitches-popular terrain for a wide range of skier abilities. Winter 2004-2005 is Tamarack Resort's inaugural ski season. The mountain is complete with tow service from base to summit. A total of nine aerial lifts and five surface lifts are proposed for Tamarack to serve the more than 600 acres of groomed trails and 1,100 acres of beautiful, skiable terrain.
The Meadow
The Robert Trent Jones II signature golf course at Tamarack occupies a pivotal position between two great landscape features: the timbered mountains that descend to the village and the wide plane of Lake Cascade, which opens to the mountains on the far horizon.
The overall topography of the golf-course site slopes gently down from its starting point near the Village. It moves across dry meadows and between large preserved wetlands. Greens have been placed against a backdrop of aspens, on the lakeshore, and between stands of mature ponderosa pines on the mountainside.
Currently the course has been graded, seeded, and irrigated and is on schedule for a summer 2005 opening.
Lake Cascade
There is a striking natural convergence at Tamarack of sweeping mountain, majestic forest, and beautiful Lake Cascade. A multitude of lake activities exist, along with three designated bird sanctuaries on the nearby shoreline. As part of a joint agreement with the Idaho Parks Department and Bureau of Reclamation, the lakeshore in front of the resort will be developed into a waterfront park that includes a full range of lake activities including water skiing, sailing, sea kayaking, conoeing, fishing, sail boarding, swimming, and children's play area.
Tamarck Village
The Village at Tamarack has been conceived as the heart of the project. Located on the scenic natural overlook, the Village will be a vibrant collection of quality shopping and restaurants as well as a mix of condominiums and lodging facilities.
